Javier Tebas- The Saudi League currently does not cause concern

Spanish League President Javier Tebas said on
Thursday that the Saudi League is currently “no cause for concern,” noting that the danger lies in their desire to participate in the Champions League

The Saudi League concluded 277 new deals in the
recent summer transfer market, including 69 players from European clubs, for a total amount of 957 million euros

Tebas said during a press conference to present the association’s economic report: “The Saudi League does not worry us today, but we are interested in knowing what is happening. However, the big league does not become like this with the players alone. We have an example of China, which years ago carried out large investments sponsored by the government, but it did not grow or advance.” As a contest

He added: “We also saw when Cristiano Ronaldo left the Spanish League and profits fell by 50%. Or in France, with the presence of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, profits rose to 80%

He added: "This indicates the importance of the history of competitions, clubs, and brands. And also the fans on social media because if they do not talk about you, it is because they do not follow you. The Saudi League has 5 million fans, the Premier League has 200 million, and we have more than 200 million

He continued: “We will see the development of the Saudi League. But the danger in the medium term is that one day they will raise their hands requesting to participate in the Champions League, and to be able to participate in it, they will offer a large sum of money that UEFA and the major clubs will accept because this money will be divided among the majors

The Spanish League president added: “In the short term, this matter does not worry me, but it concerns us. We do not consider that there is a danger at the present time because - among other things - they do not own the audio-visual rights sold in the United States and Africa
