Despite playing for Spain...the Moroccan shirt is waiting for Yamal!

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal continues to attract the spotlight in European stadiums in recent weeks.

Lamal became the youngest player to start a match in the history of Barcelona, and he also became the youngest player to represent the Matador in history, after he participated and scored a goal against Georgia, yesterday, Friday, in the Euro qualifiers.

Yamal was born in Spain to a Moroccan father and Equatorial Guinean mother, so he could have represented one of the three national teams.

According to the newspaper "AS", Yamal's participation with Spain will not prevent him from choosing the Moroccan national team in the future and defending the colors of the Moroccan national team.

She pointed out that according to FIFA regulations, a dual-national player can change the team he represents if he does not play 3 official or friendly matches, or spends 3 years without playing for the national team with which he first appeared.

The newspaper explained: “Even if Yamal participates in the next match against Cyprus, the Spanish Federation will not guarantee that the Barcelona star will abandon the idea of representing Morocco.”

She stated, "The Spanish Federation will have to wait for Yamal to play the third match with the Spanish national team during the upcoming international break, as the team will play two matches against Scotland and Norway."
